Poultry Products Quality Control (PPQC CO. Ltd.) is a private poultry diagnostic, consultancy and research company in the Eastern Japan region. It was established by Dr. Hiromitsu Katoh and some private poultry producers in 1982 as a pioneer third-party poultry research institute to guarantee and monitor the safety and quality of poultry products in the region.
From humble beginnings, PPQC has transformed itself as one of the leading and highly advanced private poultry institute in Japan supervising the quality, safety, performance, health and management of 72 commercial layer farms from six different prefectures, covering an average total of 7.5 million layers, 6.6 million replacement pullets and 25 million day-old chicks per year.
We believe that voluntary assurance of quality and safety of poultry products is a social responsibility of poultry producers, not only in Japan but in all parts of the world. We are directly involved in the active development of technology, formulation of management and marketing strategies and innovation and analysis of industrial information, so that poultry producers can achieve their goals, not only in maximizing their profit, but most importantly in the fulfillment of their responsibilities to the society as well.
We have established numerous research collaborations and direct linkages with a vast network of Universities and research institutes in most regions of the world, including United States and Germany, among others. PPQC functions as a poultry information hub so that information can be effectively use to bridge the gap between the field, the industry and the academe.
We provide utmost care and technical support to our client farms constantly. When we encounter a new disease or unknown phenomenon, we apply every kind of technique to investigate. We share our results and report our findings in veterinary and food protection journals and conferences as new discoveries so that we can help other field practitioners in their poultry practice. We are making every effort to polish up our skills and all the available diagnostic techniques to make them more sensitive and efficient to use in actual field conditions so that we can more effectively help the farmers. Field is always foregoing and the field teaches us the truth. This is the philosophy of PPQC!
